Bought these and I am very pleased with the paper figures. Well detailed and authentic looking even in 15mm. The definitive soldiers of the Ottomans – the Janissaries – are well represented; possibly too well at the cost of some of the lesser quality troops. However other infantry are included and it just means printing a few more sheets.
Heavy and light cavalry are represented, as are the artillery. Four guns, each with crew, barrels of powder and gabions to protect them all on a single sheet.
All the units can have command as there are single officers, standard bearers and musicians.
All the figures have shading around them which makes it easy and quick to cut them out and get a pleasing result.
On seeing these I also bought Golden Roses 1680 -1730, which I will use as Austrians, to take on the Ottomans.
Both sets are excellent – well drawn figures and in a format that allows the huge armies of the period to be built at an inexpensive price
Highly recommended

A game that uses a great dice system to see if you hit and do damage.
That makes the rules play fast.
You make the troops from your own collection.
They have a web app to make units and print out the data sheet.
Overall one of the best Combined Arms SciFi games on the market that few know about.
Can play 6-25mm but shines at 6-10mm IMHO.
I printed this up and made it in an afternoon. I liked the strong deep colour contrasts and the assembly was very straightforward. I can see myself getting some of the other designs and trying to make some interiors too.

An excellent ruleset for fast-paced gaming!
Really enjoyed playing this with my brother so far. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a fun little game to play with younger players, or just a simple quick game with more experienced players.
The book also includes a campaign system, historical battles, and instructions on how to build you own battle blocks!
Worth a buy!
I am excited to play this game with my weekly group. They aren't really big tabletop game players but this game has just enough role-playing to get them started.
While I enjoy a lot of the reference materials in this book it needs to be distilled down for gamers' practical use at the table. As another reviewer noted, there's a LOT of theory and discussion of the why and that is interesting to read. But it's mixed in with the mechanics and it makes referencing this guide tedious and frustrating. Additionally, the mechanics described in here are I would say 75% baked. Nothing about it is totally complete and ready to play. It needs a lof of player intervention. And while I appreciate that because no one size fits all campaign approach will work for everyone, the steps needed to get to a place where you're putting these ideas into practice are made arcane by incoherent and nonsequential delivery of information. I will use this in construction of my own campaign system, but I plan to put all of that in a QRS that is about a page or two long and once I have that I can't much imagine going back to this book....
SFB is a great game. 2-stars is for the lack of a table of contents in the PDF. Yes, there's the printed TOC at the beginning of the book. This is 2023. PDF files should have the clickable TOC embedded, to make navigation easier.
like the concept, have not played it yet but want to, well detailed maps and oob's for both forces. The scenarios seem very interesting and hopefully will provide a lot of entertainment.
