Reasonable set of rules, but marred by lack of a QRS. Not really sure why it is a VSF set when it appears to be mostly concerned with the historical activity in the Sudan. Definitely needs a QRS and a statement of raison d'etre.

Looks impressive, though yet to have a game. Inspired to buy as I play a great deal of Impetus and find them to be the best Ancient to Renaissance rules I have ever played. Was looking for something to enable me to get some Victrix/Perry Waterloo plastic 28mm figures.

Effective and simple. Can be coloured for even more effect.

This set of rules, mainly for the Great Italian Wars, has lots of period-specific flavour and some very interesting cards and game aids to add even more flavour. On the down side it relies on figure numbers and figure removal and some of the rules turn certain aspects, eg. morale calculation, into a mental maths exercise. I think I am more likely to play Warlord Games' Pike and Shotte for a relaxing entertainment using my early Renaissance collection.

Excellent production values and well thought out scenarios. I am looking forward to playing these through.

Very clear and the correct size for 15mm figures, ie. not oversized.
