TABLE AIR COMBAT

Table Air Combat is a fast, simple air combat game that can be played on any flat surface.  All you need are some six-sided dice and some coins to provide weight for the aircraft counters.  Everything else can be printed from this ruleset.

This flying boat was known as the Flying Porcupine for its lethal array of defensive guns.  It also featured self-sealing fuel tanks, fire-suppression systems, and an armoured cockpit.

While designed for anti-submarine work, its incredible range allowed it perform extreme long-range bombing missions over United State and Australian targets.

Each player has a flight of four bombers, represented by two counters.  Aircraft counters move by means of curved “performance rulers” that represent the aircraft’s historical cornering ability and maximum speed.

Each performance ruler is unique to each aircraft, and contains all the speed, cornering, and weapon information needed.

TAC is designed for portability;  The entire game can fit in a plastic bag.  Even the largest battles can take place on a fast-food restaurant table.

Each aircraft is sold separately.  Only pay for the ones you want, and print out as many copies as you need to create your own epic WWII air battle.

This set is a self-contained rulebook that includes miniatures for the Japanese flying boat H8 "Emily"

In addition to the Emily, this set also includes:

•destroyers and cargo ships

•ground target of Townsville, Australia

•cloud counters and new rules

•Flak circles

This set contains three scenarios.  The first one can be done entirely with this set.  The others require purchase of additional aircraft

Follow-Up: Two H8 Emily planes flew halfway across the Pacific ocean to make a follow-up attack on Pearl Harbor.

The City of Townsville: Emilys attack this Australian port city, defended by P-40 Kittyhawks.

Eight Against One: A squadron of P-38 Lightnings ambush a single Emily, which must depend on cloud cover and its heavy defensive armament.

This set contains only the Emily. Other aircraft referenced in the scenarios are sold separately.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
