Village Pub Paper Model

Easy to build: This paper model kit is easy to assemble, requiring just cardstock paper sheets to print on (110 lb. or 199gsm recommended), scissors, hobby knife, paper glue, aluminum ruler and cutting mat. It may look complicated, but every part of the Village Pub is simple to assemble on its own, and putting it together is just a matter of building up the simple shapes into the complete structure you see here. Because this is such a large model, assembly time is two to three hours.

15mm to 30mm scale: This model is designed at the popular 28mm-30mm gaming scale, and can be shrunk down to 15mm, 20mm or 25mm scales by simply adjusting the print size percentage on your printer. Tips and advice for altering the scale are included with this kit.

Multi-layered PDFs: The Village Pub features multiple texture layers, putting you in control over the final look of your model before you print. If you like, you can print several versions of this model and scatter them around your gaming table, and each model can have a distinct look.

Choose from a variety of surface textures for the walls:

  • Medieval Stone
  • Red Bricks
  • Gray Bricks
  • Blue Tudor (overlay)
  • Brown Tudor (overlay)
  • Optional cracked walls and other weathering effects
  • Variety of window and door placements
  • Optional lanterns
  • And more!

Choose from a variety of roof textures:

  • Wooden Shingles
  • Thatching
  • Slate Tiles

Choose from these configuration options:

  • Optional Coal Shed with 3 possible positions
  • 2 Chimney heights with 6 possible positions
  • Optional Room Extension

Ready to print: For your printing convenience, this model is also offered as a single-layered PDF in a unique color scheme not found on the multi-layered PDFs. You can even swap components between the single-layered and multi-layered PDFs, giving you even more customization options for your models.

Corrected roof dormers: With this model you'll find that there's an error with the wood-textured tabs on the undersides of the roof dormers. Unfortunately, I've lost my source files for this model and can't make corrections to the PDFs directly. So instead, I've prepared a sheet of pieces that you can use to replace the incorrect tabs on the original model. Sorry for the goof!

Software requirements: You'll need Adobe Reader to get full use of these layered PDFs.

Dimensions: This model's footprint varies depending on its configuration. The standard L-shaped configuration measures 7" x 7", and it stands 7" tall, not including the chimney. The ground tile measures 8" x 9".

Another fun model to build as much as it is viewing it once complete. As always I build these mounted on foam core which adds some complexity to the build. The overhang on this model created a challenge with this approach but is easily overcome with [...]

Great model. I just wish David Graffam added signs to this one. Also watch out for putting the roof together. I also didn't like that you couldn't use some of the prepared textures on your custom model. If you have the addition selected you will need [...]

I've built several of Dave Graffam's models and this is one of my favorites. Easy construction and pleasing results. This is another fairly large building and looks great when displayed with other models. [...]

It's a Graffam for sure! As with all of Mr. Graffam's models, this features beautiful, rich color and a variety of layered options. This beast is HUGE! (8 inches square) and about as tall. The construction was pretty straight-forward, and went t [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
