SATURDAY MORNING CARTOONS ARE BACK!

Remember when Saturday morning meant animated shows about wacky races, tricked-out vehicles, and talking cars? SPEED RALLY gives you the rules to race outlandish automobles around ramp-happy tracks and roar across dangerous terrain in cross-country rallies!

Speed Rally is a fast and easy set of miniature rules designed to be used with any 1/64 scale diecast car. Built by Origins-nominated designer JP Trostle, it lets you recreate your favorite characters from movies, TV, or real life. Speed Rally gives you the tools to generate vehicles and drivers, arm them with weapons and devices, and race them anywhere — from terrain-filled tabletops to family room floors or even the beach.

Speed Rally includes:
• Complete rules for running races — from real-life stock car circuits to cartoon wacky races
• Car & Driver sheets, turn key and spinout templates, and off-road measuring strips
• A step-by-step guide to build the Spinnaker — an alternative to gear dice
• Over 50 weapons and devices to upgrade and arm 12 vehicle classes — everything from go carts to monster trucks
• Rules on how to include heroes, villains, superheroes, secret agents and sentient cars into play.

Printable roads & tracks are also availabe here: https://www.wargamevault.com/product/279788/Roads--Tracks-for-Speed-Rally

Purchasers of Speed Rally also have access to Interactive PDF player sheets. Contact japenet@gmail.com for the files.

Having a hard time trying to find the downloads section on speedrally.net, specifically the track segments. Any chance they can be put as a download/update on drivethrurpg?

Hi — after a long delay, a backup of the files has been located and uploaded to Wargame Vault. Look for them under "Roads & Tracks for Speed Rally"

Question!
Can a car switch lanes when driving through a corner/turn? (usning the track pieces with grids on them)
Also, when taking a corner too fast: Do I only roll ONCE, or do I have to roll a second time if my last turn my car ended midway through the corner?

>Can a car switch lanes when driving through a corner/turn?

Yes, as long as it isn't to a space that is lateral to the space the car is moving from. (A lateral space being one that shares either the same front or back line of a space next to it.) See page 6 for an example of a lane change you could not make.

> Also, when taking a corner too fast: Do I only roll ONCE, or do I have to roll a second time if my last turn my car ended midway through the corner?

You roll once each time you enter a turn and your gear setting is higher than the corner lane number. So, if your car is still in a corner and don't downshift at the start of the next game turn, you're still traveling too fast and will have to roll again. You'll also have to roll again if you change lanes and the new lane also has a number lower than your current gear setting.

Hope that helps!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
