Does this ruleset include solo rules or is there an expansion for that? Maybe coop? There are homebrew ways to solo or coop but was wondering if there was an "official" way.

I'm starting to paint these guys.

https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/3429167/beginning-to-build-ships

These are all resin printed versions, except the Terran Heavy Cruiser and the two Light Cruisers. They are FDM, #3 nozzle I believe. (Friend printed those.)

Good looking ships once painted. :)

As lots of people here, I was struggling to know what to print for the first games (and if possible, print enough to play more advanced games).

As of now, I collected those informations of components, hope they will help the new players:

First games:

- Ships - one of each (10 ships: 5 Kurgan, 5 Terran)
- Drift tokens - 10 (one for each ship)
- Ruler - 2 (one for each player. more if you plan to play with more players)
- Turn template - 2 (one for each player. more if you plan to play with more players)
- Reserve tokens - 28 (14 Kurgan, 14 Terran)
- Missile tokens - 10 (4 Kurgan, 6 Terran)

Here the things got a little bit confusing... Because this way Kurgan will have 1015 points and Terran 995. So we need to add some drones or mines. Since I read somewhere here the drones are more recommended for beginners, I will just add some drones to Terrans and some to Kurgan to make so both players can use drones:

Kurgan:

Hi! I'm currently slowly printing game components and I can't help but agree with Andrii's comment a few entries below. Though I fully understand the freedom such kind of games provide, I personally would very much appeciate some "Getting started" or "First game" section that would go something like this:
"In case you're not sure where to start and what you need, we recommend that for your first game you use the following: _these kurgun ships_, _these terran ships_, _that many_ missile tokens, _that many_ drift tokens, _that many_ asteroids of _these kinds_ etc"
Or some other cheat sheet that would have all info in one place and help players understand how many things they need to print for certain fleet without jumping between multiple files.
Other than that it seems to be a solid game and I do hope many more facinating expansions are yet to come!)

P.S. Thank you very much for your printing profiles - I instantly got insanely good results with miniatures....See more

Just to verify - when resolving attacks, each attack is resolved separately, is that correct? That way the shields are resolved against each weapon. Otherwise, it would seem to me it would be relatively easy to overwhelm shields with combined fire from multiple weapon mounts on one ship. However, it isn't immediately clear to me in the rules.

Correct, each attack is resolved independently against shields.

I haven't played the game yet, but I like what I have seen by reviewing the rules. The main reason I am commenting here is to let people know that the models print beautifully on a Prusa Mk4S with 0.4 nozzle at 0.1 layer height. I'm definitely impressed with the model design that makes this possible.

I can't emphasize enough how confusing it is for DIY games to not specify how many tokens or assets you need. I was jumping between different PDFs trying to find additional information with no luck. I really hope for some clarifications (just a simple table with contents will suffice (similar as board games has their reference of components).

Hi Andrii! Each ship card states how many energy and missile tokens it requires. Mines are only needed if you choose to add them to a ship, same for drones, so there is no way to recommend how many of them you will need in advance. As for ships, printing one of each should be enough to get you started. :)

Loving the paint schemes for the models. Any chance of a quick tutorial on how to achieve a similar result? Thanks

It's super easy you just need to remove the files over to a resin slicer slice them like normal and print them in a resin printer I've got both machines and I go back and forth all the time

Is there a "quick play" list of the minimum parts to play a starter game? The rulebook says at least 1 ship per player, and then an unspecified number of other printed tokens and accessories in section 1.2 of the PDF.

I just picked up the starter set and expansions 1+2, and I was wondering what I should be printing first to get started playing, particularly in terms of tokens and accessory elements [asteroids, drift/missile/reserve power/drone tokens, mines, turn templates]. I'm figuring it out, but I had hoped to queue up my prints so they could print in the background while I was working my way through the rulebook. I think I've figured out that drone max = ship size; mine max = 4 x ship size; reserve power max is probably the rightmost of the reserve power bar; 1 drift token per ship, 1 turn template per player [assumptions based on the movement section]; I'm uncertain on missile tokens - are they just to indicate a pending hit, or are they also a resource counter?

I think...See more

My group had its first game last night, and the only problem was that I had so much fun I forgot to take photos, but on a good note everyone enjoyed the rules and loved the miniatures. My group has found its new starship combat rules in the space portion of our campaign game. Bravo fat dragon games.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
