Burst of Fire - Tactical World War 2 Skirmishes (man to man)

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Burst of Fire is a tactical wargame with action-packed miniature skirmishes on an individual level set during World War Two.

The goal of Burst of Fire is to create a realistic, tactically challenging, atmospheric and fun gaming experience. Up to six people can play. Each player will put together a
detachment that belongs to an infantry, support or armored doctrine.

The shape of the detachment is determined by the doctrine. Detachments may consist of commanding officers, squad leaders, soldiers, support weapons, vehicles and/or planes.

When putting your force together, you have to make multiple decisions:

• Do I want to have a more mobile or static force?
• Which main and side weapons will my soldiers use?
• What additional equipment do they bring to the battlefield?
• Shall I rely on battle-hardened veterans or rookies that
have not seen any action on the field yet?
• Do I salvage enemy weapons or solely rely on my own?

Units on the field will have to deal with the physical and mental strain of combat situations as well as unforeseen events.

Burst of Fire is heavily inspired by miniature games like Bolt Action, Chain of Command, Warhammer, but also by conflict simulations like Conflict of Heroes and computer games like Company of Heroes and Assault Squad.

Action Point Counter, Combat Score Card, Random Event & Effect Cards & Effect Tokens included. Print on vinyl sticker paper or photo paper for best results.

Hey Daniel, I am so sorry for the late answer. Yes, you can play it with our miniatures you can get on our wargame vault shop or with 2D/3D minis you already own. Best Chris

Hi. Can this be played solo? How many units would likely be on the field at once? Basically what is the battle scale? Squads, Platoons, Battalions etc.? Thanks BTW. very smart to release high quality minis before the game.

Hey Gene, happy to see you interested. You will have one to two squads on the table and control each unit individually. You can play solo by using the solo module on our website. There will be a "real" solo module with cards in the future, though.

Hi Gene, I recommend to use the Detachment and Deployment bot first. It will pick an enemy detachment from a list running in the background. Right now it is eight different Soviet detachments but I hope to have 10 Soviet, 10 US and 10 German detachments in upcoming weeks. As soon as you have picked the enemy detachment, you can use the deployment bot. It will tell you the order of deployment and the flanks you deploy the units in. After that you can use the activation bot. It will tell you in which order to activate and what the activation will be. Hope that helped and of course, thank you for buying! :)

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
