This is a game under construction...

rolokeng18.jpg

This game is the result of various projects, ideas, and combinations of projects I’ve had over the years. I wanted to create a simple and fun system where anyone, using little space and low investment, could enjoy a massive battle system. I chose the 2mm scale because it’s one of the most popular, but players are free to use 6mm figures to replicate more detailed and dynamic battles.

The game is set in my world of Artrusia, the setting for many RPG campaigns and wargame campaigns I’ve played over the years with my grognard friends. As the game develops, we will gradually introduce more lore for you to immerse yourself in.

This book is a beta version of the game, and much is yet to be added, including lore. Our plan is to add new content monthly, shaping the book until it reaches its final form. You’ll notice various items in the table of contents marked as DEV, meaning they will be added to the rules in the future.

As for the miniatures, my idea is to gradually “sculpt” them in 3D and present them to you over time. This will be a significant challenge for me as I’ve always been a hard surface modeler, but I need to create the minis and will face the challenge of 3D modeling.

One thing that enchants me is the OSR movement in the realm of RPGs. I wanted to initiate something similar to the old wargames of the 80s, an old-school movement in wargames. I believe there’s room for us to create simple and enjoyable systems without sacrificing playability, with a good lore and rules that can be shaped by the community.

Hence, the proposal for this game, meaning that it’s being developed with everyone’s input, and we can build something really cool to play with our loved ones on Saturday afternoons.

Best Regards

Tony Garcia

Hello, this is a great game you are building here. I have a question about units and platoons? Is there a standard number of bases that comprise a unit? Is there coherency? Thanks

Thanks for your words! Hello, as a standard, I've been using a base of 2cmx2cm with about 10 3mm minis on it (you can add even more, the important thing is this base representing a platoon). Regarding cohesion, I'll be upgrading the rules soon and will make this specific rule available.

Hi Tony, I did a 3mm conversion project of the old Milton Bradley game Battle Masters, using the Microworld Games miniatures (that are molded in strips) -

http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=567147

I tried to mount the strips (many cut down into smaller groupings), to make the formations on the bases look typical for the troop types on them - so loose and random alignments for the Chaos army units, but more linear and orderly for the Imperial troop stands......trying to reflect the discipline of the human troops vs. the impetuous, uncontrolled behavior of the Chaos troops.

Btw, I have one question about the rules so far - it seems the hit mechanics are based on "stands", but the rules mention "units". Does there need to be distinction between talking about stands firing, fighting, and their losses vs. when the rules are dealing with a complete unit (like with morale)?

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
