Star Navy is new solitaire game set amidst the boundless expanse of space in a distant future. Assume the commanding role of a Space Destroyer alongside its fleet of agile fighters, embarking on a series of ten diverse missions that span the spectrum of interstellar conflict. Engage in open battles, navigate critical escort duties, and strategize during intricate blockade operations. Your decisions will shape the outcome of these high-stakes missions, each offering unique challenges and requiring astute tactical prowess.

The missions are playable either as standalone challenges or as integral segments of a campaign game, that will add a strategic level to game with the introduction of maintenance duties and opportunities for ship upgrades, with an increasing level of difficulty of the missions.

In order to play the game you only need to print the Mission Maps and use some colored dice: for a more immersive game a full set of counters is also included.

In the Campaign Game, what generates a check mark placed in the "Fighter Maintenance" box
in the MAINTENANCE section?

At the end of each mission you must check the "Fighter Maintenance" box in the MAINTENANCE section. This represents the need to repair/replace the fighters before the next mission.

To clarify, is this a miniatures game requiring a board and terrain or soley uses the digital files provided?

This is NOT a miniatures game, is a print-and-play wargame. To play the game you only need the files provided: you will need to print the mission maps while all the other files can be kept in digital format. Using the Vassal module is of course an option to play the game without printing any component.

Game rules, missions, logs are in the 5 PDF files included in the package.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
