For some reason DrivethruRPG is mislabeling as an Apocalypse World RPG game. While the game is post apocalyptical, this is in no way a PbtA style game and not comparable with such games as Apocalypse World, Monsters of the Week, etc. This is a car combat game, not a RPG, and it uses a lot more dice than the two D6 PbtA games use. That being said, if you are looking for a tabletop car combat game, this game looks playable and has some nice features.

Thanks. I've double checked, and I can't see anywhere where we might be mislabeling it ourselves so it must be a DriveThruRPG thing. We have it down as: Land Tactical Skirmish, Wargames Rulesets, and Science Fiction. Can't see an option for Apocalypse World, or RPG.

Thank you for your reply. Odd. When I search for Apocalypse World system RPG and Print, it shows up. Personally, I also love Car Wars, Devil's Run, Gaslands, and other such games, so my only disappointment is that is isn't also a RPG. The rules themselves seem very streamlined and well organized.

Car Wars is a complete game in a box, and more complicated than The Last Drifters. The Last Drifters compares more to Gaslands, but again simpler. All of the movement and shooting is done with one template in The Last Drifters. There's also 3 ways of playing it:

1. 2 or more players controlling one or more vehicles i.e. a gang against some drifters
2. A group of players racing around a track (a very fun party game)
3. A destruction derby with multiple players (another fun party game)

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
