Galactic Starfire + Elite

Galactic Starfire is the 4th edition of the Starfire System. Released in the summer of 2000, Galactic Starfire was the first edition to be completely designed and written by Marvin Lamb and the Starfire Design Studio. Galactic Starfire is the culmination of multiple years of work to balance the rules and technologies of the Starfire System. Galactic Starfire's main focus is on the strategy game and campaign gameplay. Galactic Starfire introduced the concept of technology trees, balanced and refined the technology systems, simplified and streamlined the campaign system, expanded the system generation options, and improved the consistency of the grammer and terminology used in the rules.

The Elite supplement, released in 2002, further streamlined the rules and introduced improvements to simplify AP and treating squadrons as a single small unit instead of a group of small units. Elite also made further refinements to the rules and appendices and corrected a number of errors found through continued gamplay of the new ruleset.
