A set of wargames rules covering heroic adventure and dastardly villains during the early 20th Century.

Enter a world of perilous adventure and explore steaming jungles, desert canyons, and arctic wastes! Brave the perils of nature and discover lost ruins, ancient treasures, and the secrets of forgotten civilizations! Race against rival adventurers and face off against diabolical villains! Take to the city streets and fight back against gangsters, spies, and sinister cults!

Pulp! is a scenario-driven skirmish wargame set during the interwar years of the early 20th Century. Players build teams of bold explorers, daring archaeologists, hardboiled detectives, and costumed avengers – or criminal masterminds and evil geniuses – and dive into a world of fortune, glory… and menace. Pulp! contains all the rules needed to game globetrotting escapades in this rip-roaring era.

Be aware that this book doesn't contain any Solo rules despite what is written on the back of the book.
The only mention of solo play is on page 4 and it only says that the activation system and the randomness of the dice rolls will keep the solo player surprised as he plays both sides.

Welp, I Was looking forward to this...bummer. My wife got me a hardcopy pre-order based on the fact that it said "Suitable for both solo and cooperative play as well as the classic head-to-head mode". I was looking forward to getting in some solo play. Thanks for the heads up.

I wonder how this compares with Pulp Alley?

The rules are more simple than Pulp Alley, which is already a simple game. For starters, you only need six-sided dice, and most characters are defined by their rank rather than attributes and skills. This game is also more squad-based than Pulp Alley. In Pulp Alley, your party is generally no more than five figures, and each is unique in its way. Here your party's figure count can easily go up to 10 and certain characters are penalized if they separate from their squad. This plays a little more like games like Frostgrave in that you have a hero and a sidekick that are commanding a small group of soldiers around the battefield.

This is a very helpful reply. Thank you! I will admit that I did not wait for an answer and have already purchased the rules. Your reply is spot on. I have Pulp Alley and can see that the two games will fill different needs.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
