LET LOOSE THE SAVAGE BLADES!

Savage Blades is now available in an updated Version 2! The game remains the same, with a minor facelift, still allowing it to be printed on a single sheet of paper, for compact barbarian travels!

Games of SB are incredibly quick, super easy to learn and understand, and encourage customization, allowing you to take the game as a foundation to build off of, making the game the experience you want it to be. SB is played on battlefields of either 1x1 or 2x2 feet in size, with little to no terrain needed.

Included in the Version 2 update is a Roster Sheet and Quick Reference Sheet.

Printing Savage Blades: When printing the SB rules, choose the BOOKLET option for sizing and handling with the booklet subset to "both sides" and binding set to "left". This allows both sides of a single page to contain the entire game. When printing the Roster Sheet and Quick Reference Sheet, choose the MULTIPLE option for sizing and handling, with the page order set to "horizontal". This allows for both to be printed on a single sheet.

Version 2 Update (January 10, 2023)

Savage Blades has been updated to VERSION 2, which does away with the original handwritten style, providing a more seemless reading experience, still printable on a single sheet of paper. Willpower has also been removed, as the idea for such things isn't needed in a small footprint where Barbarians fight to the death.

Also included is a separate file, with Roster Sheet and Quick Reference Sheet; these can be printed together on a single page, so that you can keep a handy reference of your Warband and the rules.

Does the leader's "FREE order" not count as an activation or is it an activation that simply doesn't require a dice roll?

Greetings! The free order is just that, FREE. Leaders can essentially issue a free activation to any friendly Warrior (even if the target has already been activated); additionally, the free order is given to the leader on top of their normal activation, so they can issue it, then perform an action, or perform an action, then issue it. If the activation is given to a Warrior that hasn't activated, it doesn't count as the target's activation.

Greetings! The dice are from an old children's board game called "Pirateology". You can search sites like eBay and actually find components if you're only looking for the dice. Thanks for stumbling onto Savage Blades!

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
