5 Parsecs Bug Hunt - Expansion 1

Lock and load troopers, there's something weird about this batch of Vent Crawlers!

* * * * *

The first expansion for 5 Parsecs Bug Hunt offers the following additions:

* New player options:

3 non-human support unit choices and 2 new weapons to help you against the alien menace.

* Signals:

This system adds radio beacons that need to be investigated. Each time a Signal is investigated, it may turn out to be one of 6 results, such as discovering civilians or finding evidence of the attack origin.

* Spawn points:

Missions can now have points on the map where enemies spawn regularly throughout the mission. This adds an additional worry as you need to decide whether to send troopers to seal off the entry points before you get overrun.

* Enemy sub-types:

The alien horde can now belong to one of 6 sub-types such as Spitters with ranged attacks or Ambushers that always get revealed in cover.

* Pack Leaders:

Alien mobs can now include one of 6 leaders, such as the Caller that conjures additional Contacts or the Leader that drives existing Contacts towards you.

* * * * *

Finally, a D100 table is included to randomly determine which options are used in a given mission for players who prefer a bit more unpredictability.

This pack is designed to be used as you see fit: You don't have to commit to using a particular option for the entire campaign and you can mix and match as you see fit.

Note that this is intended for use with Five Parsecs Bug Hunt, NOT Five Parsecs From Home.

This is for the current version of Bug Hunt (2e). I think if you still have the original, it should still be usable without much trouble but just to be on the safe side: 2e.

Sorry, this is for Bug Hunt, which is a spin-off game though characters can transfer from Bug hunt to the full FPFH campaign :)

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
