AtomBlitz: The 1st Anticrusade

The Great Global Depression of the 2020s destroyed the Free World. The economy is in permanent bankruptcy. Scientific and technological progress has reached the end of line. Education and culture have degraded.

The European Union and NATO have ceased to exist. Former allies are now preparing to tear each other apart.

The year is 2038. A new era of war begins with the clash of Islamist France and neo-fascist Spain. What kind of fanaticism is less repulsive to you?

AtomBlitz: The 1st Anticrusade is the first installation in a new series of tactical wargames about local nuclear wars of the near future. Take command of the army of obscurantists armed with the latest technology, and walk through the ruins of Western civilization with fire and tracks!

Action shot: the Anticrusade in progress

The mini-game set contains 1 A4 map depicting the border area of France and Spain, and two sheets of 14 mm counters for infantry units, ground and air combat vehicles. The four-mission campaign allows players to participate in a fierce two-day border battle of the post-hybrid warfare era armies.

Bought the game, read through the instructions and it seems a good wargame on paper.

However, I am loathe to print out this much solid grey and red on my laser printer. Is it possible to get a printer friendly version of the tokens and 'pads'?

Might involve recolouring some of the text, or even just reducing the grey down to like 20% grey would help a lot.

Thank you for your feedback!

I haven't recived any claims about this aspect yet, so I was thinking, it was OK. I have understood your opinion about grey-ness level, and what you think about tokens, what color would be preferable?

Basically if anything solid red, black or grey can be reworked? Removing the solid dark grey strip down the middle of the token sheets.

I've uploaded some example recolours here and (if that doesn't work do you have an email address i can send them to?). They are very low quality as they are screenshots that I have edited. You can see the ones that I have tried to remove the greys and reds from a couple of variations. I prefer the bottom style for finished/moved tokens, just white grey and black. Probably the top right variant of the Janissaries.

Thanks for listening.

I see.

I will redone pads background with 30-grey, and make tokens the same 30-grey and balck icons. [I agree, they look nice]. But I will not recolor counters, sorry. It's my artistic vision, to make units look like thermal imager display, and I don't drop that.

Reworking will take some time, but not so long, I guess.

Thank you. That might be a fine compromise. I understand about artistic vision. I look forward to the new counters and hopefully I can give this a go!

I'm interested but need more information. Please show samples of the map and counters and/or include more pages from the rules in the preview (based on table of contents, change preview to include up to page 6?)

Hello. I've updated the PDF-preview as you wish.

Also, the flipbook-preview shows the complete game set as it is on the printing sheets. The map is on the first page.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
