Introducing Sundered Vault's latest game line, Half Hour Heroics, lead first by Novus Crusade! This system is designed to flexible, fast, and fun, allowing for customization and quick gameplay! Novus Crusade is set in a techno-medieval future, filled with space knights, space gremz, and many other soon-to-be-released races! The book is full color, and comes with the following goodies!

Everything in the game is based around a single target number, and we use D6s!

You build a force with points! Troops are single characters or squads!

You upgrade troops and their weapons with Traits, which add some neat bonuses and modifiers.

The profile for troops and weapons is very simple, and is based on how it modifies or penalizes the base target number!

Commanders can give orders that make things much cooler, or easier!

There are different mission types, including blasting everything, holding an area, and wave defense!

Variant Forces/Factions who have slight modifications to how the play, and the colored minis to play them!

A great game to relax with your pals or introduce younger folks to tabletop wargaming!

Played my first game yesterday and I enjoyed it and think the system has potential, but I also have a few comments/questions:

1) Do you use the "1s always fail, 6s always succeed" assumption? Its not stated in the rules but without it the Big Mulcher is invulnerable outside of badly hindering terrain and several units cannot fail Morale checks.

2) What do you define as "backward movement"? We assumed it meant towards your deployment zone, since there are no restrictions on turning or facing during movement.

3) Is Hits Damage intended to carry over between models? For example, does dealing 2 Damage to a 1 Hit squad remove two models or is the extra wasted? I suppose its entirely up to preference but curious to know what you intended.

4) This is entirely anecdotal based on our single game, but you may want to consider reducing Defence bonuses by 1 across the board. Since there is no Armour Piercing mechanic base troops are saving 50% of the...See more

Hi! Sorry it took so long to get a response! I'm usually on top of things much better! I'll answer those for you!
1. Yes, we do prefer the 1s fail, 6s succeed. It creates a more balanced flow, I can see it in my notes over, and over, and over, but not in the final text documents! Thanks for catching that!
2. Yes the deploment zone is indeed what we meant :)!
3. People have stated both preferences, and the game is for everybody to play how they choose, so there were a lot of open areas for people to interpret and be creative with, but my preference, and my intended playing of the game wanted the extra hits to carry over!
4. There was a mix of response in that regard, as some people actually thought they were squishy as is, and others found them tanky, as you did! I am working on creating some more itemization and the like to smooth things out, as well as new races and stuff. I found some of them tanky myself, but other times it seems folks got obliterated with ease!

Hi! Thank you for the kind words! We are updating the rules files, and are releasing 2 new armies for the game soon too. The adjustments will make sure the game has a few more options and balanced ways to take care of situations. It will fix a few profile stats too, and make all releases totally in line with each other in a balanced, simple, option-plenty way. Thanks again!

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
