Blitzkrieg in the West 1940 Volume II 50 Wargame Scenarios British vs Germans

ADD TO WISHLIST >

50 historical wargaming scenarios for miniatures featuring battles between the British and German armies in Belgium and France in May-June 1940.

These are all original scenarios. Each scenario is complete and includes the original 1940 map the battle was fought over, the actual troops involved and the missions they had. These are not vague approximations but researched historical simulations.

Optimised for wargaming rules that use one stand = one platoon but easily converted. Games range from small encounters to large set piece battles.

The contents are available to view in the Quick Preview; they are a little difficult to read so are available as a free download. Scenario 71, a typical large game, can be viewed as a Full-Size preview. All games follow the same format, but judge for yourself: a free example of Scenario 65 is also available for download. Click on the MGK Military Simulations link to find them.

By the way, note the asking price is in Australian dollars. At time of posting (November 2019), $50AUD is only $33US and only 26 UK pounds.

This is Volume 2 of 4. The 4 volumes cover all the combatants in the Blitzkrieg in the West. If you are interested in this period, click on the link above at MGK Military Simulations to see all of the products available. There are also bundles available.

PURCHASER
A very well researched and set out series of 50 scenarios with detailed colour maps and rosters. It should works well for Command Decision and similar scale rule systems like All Hell Let Lose (company to Battalion sized games), it could also be converted to 1:1 for the Flames of War rules or the scenarios could be enlarged with a little research for games systems like Spearhead (3+ Battalions per side). The author is approachable and happy to answer questions and stands by his product.

OK, it's my product so I can't review it but, with his permission, I have included below some comments I received from Stephen Nutt:

Noticed you have posted lots on wargames vault. I'll be getting the Belgian scenario set and the orbats.

I ve been playing lots of your French and British 1940 scenarios and they've all been brilliant. Hats off to you for all your hard work. A mate is painting dutch I'll do the German paras.

I wondered if you had anything else planned for scenarios.

Once again thanks for the many hours of quality wargaming your scenario packs have bought myself and all my mates.

Cheers

Steve Nutt

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
