Battlemaps: Floorplans, Inn Vol I

Battlemaps: Floorplans, Inn Vol I

This accessory features the beautiful rendered 3d maps produced by Ø1 Games. The maps come with 1 inch square grid. Two versions of each map are provided: full color and grayscale (optimized for B&W printing). In Floorplans, Inn Vol.I you will find the most common inn rooms, including the kitchen, the cellar, the common room and more. The inn featured in this product is "The Fang" where the action of the adventure "Deadly Ice" takes place; you can use it as a generic inn or with the mentioned adventure.

Each map shows a room from a top-down perspective with stunning lighting effects and superb 3D-rendered objects. You can easily print out these maps and place your favorite miniatures on them. Highly detailed, these maps add flavor and facilitate tactical movements while running combat encounters. A one-inch square grid is drawn on each map but blended in perfectly with the environment.

Each map is printable on a single sheet of paper, except for two maps (The Common Room and the Warehouse) that comes divided in two sheets. You can print out the map you need in full color, or choose its grayscale-optimized version if you do not want to consume too much ink.

Even if you decide to print them in color, these battlemaps will be always more cost-effective than a printed version, as you can print out just what you need... even multiples of your favorite ones.

Get Inspired These maps are so detailed that simply looking at them can give thousand of ideas for your own games. Why does a blade of yellow light filters through the brewery? Who is the owner of that strange machine in the room on the upper floor? You know the answer, and your players will soon discover it.

Be Descriptive Even if you do not use the battlemaps for combat, their amazing detail will assist you in room descriptions. Looking at the map while describing the room to the players becomes easier than read plain text. You could look at the preview map of the Brewery and say:

"The smell of fresh malt and other odd ingredients fills the air of this room; you can see many barrels in a corner of the room and many scratches on the dirty wooden floor. A great bronze still with many pipes connected to it, dominates the wall before you and a marble work table lies behind a shelf. Finally, some black iron lanterns hang from the walls, drawing odd shadow shapes on them."

Build Your Own Inn You can assemble a inn using the battlemaps, fill it with your favorite characters and/or monster and use it for the simple tavern-brawl or for PCs investigation.

"These are really fabulous maps, by far the best in the d20 business."

"These maps are simply gorgeous"

"We are now beginning to see truly innovative uses of computer technology within role-playing product, but this one stands head and shoulders above the rest for being both technologically advanced and genuinely useful!" (Customizable Battlemaps)

"Overall this is a product [Customizable Battlemaps] in a new realm and in a class of its own. That is for now. In the heated tile product niche market Øone Games just took a huge lead and other companies are going to have to get really creative to outshine them."

I bought this product because I was looking for battle tiles of an inn. Battlemaps: Floorplans, Inn Vol I outlines an inn called "The Fang." It's broken out into a kitchen, brewery, warehouse, common room, bedroom with toilet, master bedroom [...]

While everything contained in the PDF looks rather nice itself, even when printed, there are major issues with this product. Bewarned: Do not buy this with the intention of printing it! Firstly (and very importantly), the images in the document [...]

Everyone has raved about the quality of these floor plans and rightly so. My gripe is that once they are printed out, cropped and laminated they don't mesh well along their borders. It's real sloppy. It makes the tiles look screwy once they are [...]

All of these battlemaps are awesome and this group is no exception. Whether for role-playing or miniature battles, they fit the bill and then some. My only complaint is, I want more! [...]

How many adventures have you run (or played in) when at one point or another everyone has ended up in a tavern? And how often does a brawl break out while you are there? Whether your games tend to this norm or not, a well-detailed inn is a very [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
