Gold Town 2

"There's Gold In Them Thar Hills!"

Gold Town is a unique historical Wild West PDF tile-board game for 2 to 8 players recreating the real-life experience of Old West miners during the early 1870s in the gold mining town of Whitewash City. A lot of care and research was undertaken to ensure the historical accuracy of Gold Town. To play, just print it, cut out the components, and play -- everything you need is included, except two six-sided dice, a pencil, paper, and the players (3D Whitewash City building models are sold separately).

Gold Town Game Play
"Gold Town game using Whitewash City cardstock models and Wild West 28/32mm miniatures."

Please Note: Gold Town plays a bit like a traditional board game but with interactions within the various buildings of a gold rush town. Players roll 2d6 to move around town. Players do have control over how and where they move, but the movement distance is determined by the roll of the dice. Gold Town is not an RPG board game that encompasses player character development nor is Gold Town a shoot'em up style Wild West game

Gold Town is a fun fast-paced, historical game that can be played in 2 hours. The gameplay can be longer or shorter depending upon how players want it set up. The more gold used in the game, the longer the game will last, but once the gold has run out... Whitewash City has become a Ghost Town and the game is over.

Gold Nugget 1

Gold Town is a historical PDF tile-board game. The object of the game is to be the miner with the most money when the gold finally runs out at the end of the game. Each player owns a mining claim, which, over the course of the game, they will work to accumulate their wealth. Their initial mining claim is not one of the best in the region, but, as recent arrivals in a gold rush town, they have to take what they can get. During the course of the game, the players are forced to leave their mining claims to visit Whitewash City to perform Game Tasks, such as buying provisions, mining equipment, or just to relieve the monotony of living and working alone on a small mining claim! Once in Whitewash City, players are faced with the many temptations that a Wild West town-that-never-sleeps has to offer: drinking, gambling, and women - just to mention a few - all designed to steal away your hard-earned gold. It's a tough existence, but that's the way it was for the miners who lived and worked around a Gold Town.

Gold Nugget 1

Gold Town is a complete game. To play, print out the rules and the game cards, and with a minimal amount of cutting and assembly, start playing. The only additional equipment required is a pencil and paper and at least two six-sided dice. Although there are a number of full-color game components (in PDF), the color on these pages has been kept to a minimum to make the game more economical to print while retaining its graphic beauty. Many of the game components can be printed in grayscale, and many of the game cards are designed for black ink printing. The rules booklet is also designed to be printed with black ink text, and blackline or grayscale images and game tables -- no color printing is required for the entire rules book. Ease and economy for our customers as our primary goals. This product won't "bust a stake" to print!

"10-out-of-10! A great game. Very well done, and one of the most interesting crossovers between board games and miniatures that I've ever seen." by Mike Mitchell

It's a fun little game and it makes an effective tie-in with the wonderful 3d card models that re also available. My only gripe would be I would have liked a more C19th look to the actual characters but that's nit picking! Overall it's a pleasure to pl [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
