“Start arming photons, best speed to Xanadu. Red alert, people, let’s get ready to do our job!”

Join us for Captain’s Log #41 and find out about alien robot warships called “Igneous” ships. In “Stones and Glass Colonies” will the Federation be able to protect Xanadu, a mining colony, from an Igneous ship? In “Igneous Down” you can read the USS Antietam’s report of its encounter with one of the warships.

Captain's Log #41 includes fiction, a tournament report, and information for all of our games including updates, new ships, a ship class history, and new scenarios.

Star Fleet Battles: This game gains five new scenarios, new SSDs (Juggernaut battleship, missile dreadnought, and frigate; Frax, Qari, Triaxian, and Sharkhunter fighter squadrons; Gorn and Romulan light battleships; Lyran Democratic Republic Dragoon and Ranger heavy cruisers, destroyer, and light cruiser), information about Banshee monsters, an update to The Lone Grey Wolf (T3), term papers, an article about the defenses of various capital systems, Q&A, a tactical primer on Singers, and much more.

Federation Commander: You will find three new scenarios, four new ships for the Frax, rules for Frax subs, command notes, and Command at Origins 2009 by Patrick Doyle.

Federation & Empire: This game gains a new scenario (Sector A of Hurricane), Q&A, tactical notes, and new ships.

Starmada: The Admiral edition of Romulan Armada is announced and two new ships are provided.

And there are still more articles: Ten questions, Awards, After-action, Command the Future, Input Guide, Why, Proposals Board, Background Questions, Galactic Conquest, the sixth part of the developmental history of heavy superiority fighters, and new action cards for SFBF.

Supports Federation Commander, Star Fleet Battles, Federation & Empire, Prime Directive, Star Fleet Battle Force, SFB Galactic Conquest, and Star Fleet Warlord.

The colorized SSDs from this issue are sold separately as is the Supplemental File (which includes reports from the 2010 Origins convention, more battle groups, Sectors B and C of F&E’s Hurricane scenario, and more new ships). Also available is the complete Federation & Empire Hurricane scenario that starts in Captain’s Log #41.

It is a datafile on the Star Fleet Marines Type-IIA assault phaser. Stats are given for GURPS and PD20M.

Thanks. Just a question, would it be too much to ask you guys to include stats for XXX ONE with this stuff too? :(

That sucks. What about maybe reaching out to the fan base for help? I know I'd love to help bring more Prime Directive One to light, I LOVE that damn system (though it really could use a revision/update ;) ) :)

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
