FiveCore Company Command

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Welcome to FiveCore Company Command.

Use the fast-playing, easy to remember FiveCore mechanics to resolve company level world war 2 and modern engagements in less than two hours.

The game moves quickly and with an unpredictable turn sequence that keeps you on your toes. Morale is built right into the firing roll with no need to consult lists of modifiers.

The rules provide a quick scenario and army generator as well as rules for infantry, tanks, support weapons and helicopters.

1 stand equals 1 squad or vehicle. Typical game had 6-12 stands on each side.

Note that this is a stand alone game and does not require any other FiveCore product to play.

The rules have recently been updated to a shiny new 2nd edition, featuring countless game improvements and refinements to help you realise your tabletop battles better than ever.

Questions on the new 003 version:
1) Platoon Orders says "During a standard turn only, a player may issue a platoon order." Does this mean in a given player-turn he may only issue a single Platoon Order?
2) Is a "light" obstacle mentioned in the rule about Dashing the same as an "easy" obstacle mentioned in the rule about Obstacles? Or are these different things? Furthermore, the rules about crossing obstacles in the Dashing section seem to contradict the rules in the Obstacles section, i.e. you don't seem to have to stop at an obstacle when dashing, is that correct?
3) Why do we have four slightly different morale results (men down, hunker down, pinned down and bail)? Are they all really necessary?

1: You can issue multiple. I will clarify this.

2: I'll get that fixed to make sure its consistent.

3: Man Down represents physical damage while Bail represents morale failure.
Pinned/Hunkered can probably be streamlined into one. Ill have a think on that.

Appreciate the feedback!

Hello, I have a question, can you also use it to depict modern theaters of war? E.g. how can you use ATGM's or reactive armor? ( Would that be more like upgrading the whole classification?)
I know 5 men at kursk so I'm thinking about how to play all the more modern stuff here

Am I missing the part where Scurrying is defined? Best I can tell is that it's a move without firing at the end, to prevent enemy units from using Reaction Fire.

Ah, alright. How does Scurrying interact if you're playing with the Standard System of turn sequencing? (Unless I've missed the bit where you roll an action die for a unit in that system!)

Hi. This too might be a silly question. Is the ruleset illustrated here the second edition?

Hullo - here's an odd one, I might be being stupid.

On page 5 is says:

The command structure of the company is represented by a special Command stand.
This represents the highest ranking officer on the field as well as a few aides or attached riflemen.

But o can't find any other reference to the command stand - why is it special? Am I being thick??

Cheers,

Roger that! Makes much more sense now. So no direct command and control rules now?

There is still command stand being mentioned in latest version in solo rules section. Also good job, these are just about the best company size game rules out there!

Can this game be played with more than 12 bases, what would be a reasonable number of stands for 3-4 hours of play?
Cheers,
Mark

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
