The Nitrate War board game is a 2-4 player strategy game covering the 19th century conflict in South America between Chili vs Peru and Bolivia. The war began when Bolivia broke a treaty between Chili and itself. Peru was not ready for a war. Its President, Mariano Ignacio Pracho, was a socialist and had purged the army of people and weapons.
