News Update 4th January 2023
What have we been doing in the last year.
In 2023 we will issue a new edition of the Officer's Handbook. There have been some delays in finalising this, first because we could not meet to playtest, but then we we got to testing, we made some radical decisions about some of the ways the rules worked. The cans of worms that opened up have now been welded shut.
The work being done on Scramble, Stringbags, and Fox Two has progressed; Scramble will be ready in the next couple of months (he says optimitsically).
These 3 are very old titles and in need of a clean up. The new editions will follow the same structure, with appropriate tweaks for the periods involved. There are changes in how you create your aircrew, how aircraft attack ground targets and the aircraft gunnery system.
We now also have aspirations to produce a simple set of rules suitable for Ancient Battles. We have played a few test games and the underlying system works well, giving a good fast game with a conclusion. I think that we will be avoiding the dreaded army lists but creating a table of troop types and then suggesting the various armies that use each of the various types.
