News for 2019: 19th January 2019
May we wish you every success with your gaming in 2019.
As mentioned in our previous site message we planning revisions to many of our products. Inevitably time pressures work against completion in a timely fashion. Where are we at the start of 2019 ?
Work is finally complete on a new edition of Bulldogs Away, which will be both a PDF and Print on Demand title. This edition will incorporate a few changes in the way the game operates. For example, the movement system will be similar to that used in the 4th Edition of Action Stations, and there will be some tweaks to the combat system. Thank you to the testers from our readers at the Vault.
Work is progressing well on two new and simpler sets of rules to cover air warfare in WW2 and also WW1. In the end the WW1 set has reached its final stages first. This is largely because air warfare at that stage was fairly simple; in World War 2 there are a number of specialised features which require some thought about how (and even whether) they can be implemented in the scope of the rules. The rules have a common underlying system, however they will have period specific rules and the scaling will be different.
Perfidious Albion and Fire When Ready will both undergo a spring clean and it is intended that the data from Fighting Fleets will be incorporated in the two titles at the same time.
Stringbags and Scramble will also be reviewed. There are already some changes which we have intended to make for some time, one being how crew values are generated. As part of the work on Aerial Battles we have found some cases where the aircraft data needs to be corrected; this is largely because technical information is more readily available, which was not the case when the rules were originally written (a long time ago !)
For other news of what we are up to, please keep an eye on our website.
Happy Gaming
