This is by far my favorite tile set ever.

It features the typical realistic and rich color/texture expression common to this publisher, making a very inviting and engaging environment. The optional grid overlay is also present as usual, which is very handy.

What makes this a 5-star is the variety - it fits well with Set #3 and kicks things up a notch with the mix of hedges, paths, clearings, camp life settings, bedrolls, carts, road crossings, etc. Heck, although it's billed as "Bandit Camp" you could use it for anything from a woodsman's camp to an adventurer's camp to a Boy Scout day camp.

I could play a year with it and still just scratch the surface.

About half of this product consists of ground tiles—dirt or cobblestones in a forested area—using the typical patterns for this series. The other half provides tiles that illustrate a campsite (for bandits, according to the title). The artwork is nice and the product offers a generous selection of tiles for the price. Almost all of the tiles in this set actually make good sense from a DM’s perspective, unlike some in the series, where mere substitution of textures into preset patterns seems to drive the “inventory” of tiles. The artist, Zoltán Bárány, should probably find a native speaker of English to write the product descriptions and titles for him, if he wishes to make good first impressions in a primarily English-speaking market. But since the actual product is artwork, not text, this matter isn’t crucial.
