Shoot N' Skedaddle PDF Card Decks

Watermarked PDF

PDF VERSION(!): Shoot N' Skedaddle is a rules set intended for miniature gaming.  The game is available as four printed card decks - see details at the game's blog below:

The PDF version of the cards will require 26 double-side pages to be printed on quality paper or a card-stock for a quality finish.  Alternately 52 pages printed and placed together.  I suggest card sleeves as you'll be using the card decks frequently.  The PDF version was created to cater to international customers as the price of international shipping is incredibly high!

The PDF allows you to produce a deck of 40 Character Cards, 36 Lawmen Special Cards, 36 Outlaw Special Cards, and 71 Weapon cards.

DISCLAIMER: Shoot N’ Skedaddle is a rule set for miniature wargaming. As such it requires that players provide many of their own materials. Gamers will need the following:

1) Suitable miniatures and terrain.
2) Multiple dice of the following types: D6, D8, D12 and D20.
3) Two matching decks of poker cards.
4) A couple of measuring sticks or tape measures.
5) A CD or DVD for use as a blast template.
6) A suitable gaming surface (recommended at least 4’x4’)
7) Tokens/chits/counters for marking certain game conditions.

Shoot N’ Skedaddle (SnS) is a rule set for skirmish wargaming set in the American Old West, from the mid-1800’s through the early 1900’s. The rule set was developed using 25/28mm miniatures but can be used with any scale as long as players adjust the ranges as needed. The rule set is available as a free download below. Note that the rule set is in its final testing, so check back for updates as needed – editions will be posted with the date (month/year) when updated.

SnS is suitable for two or more players, but may be played solo as well. Solo suitability is high.

SnS is recommended for 4-10 miniatures per player, with most games averaging 6-7 figures per player.

SnS does feature a campaign system allowing the development of a posse or gang through numerous engagements. (In progress)

SnS requires four special decks of cards for gameplay: Lawmen Special, Outlaw Special, Characters, and Weapons. These are provided in a series of PDF files, allowing the print of the decks as needed.

Shoot N’ Skedaddle has been featured at the following conventions:

Southern Front/Spring Fever, Raleigh, North Carolina.
Siege of Augusta, Augusta, Georgia.
GnomeCon, Savannah, Georgia.
Fall In!, Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Legends of the Fall, Illinois.
ReaperCon, Texas.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
