This week I'll be heading to Gen Con in Indianapolis, the 50th Anniversary of this convention, along with tens of thousands of other gamers of every type of game you can think of. Finding people to play games with will not be a problem! Many of the multi-player games we offer on The Vault will be displayed on tabletops across the convention with lots of players tossing dice and enjoying a huge gamer's party. If you're going, remember comfortable shoes and drink some water in between those beers!
For those of you that distance or time doesn't allow you to find opponents as easily as at Gen Con, we also offer solo games so that you can get your game fix in the comfort of your own home. In that case, remember a comfortable chair and drink as many beers as you want!

Blood & Plunder from Firelock Games
Blood & Plunder Rulebook features an innovative initiative system with simple and intuitive rules. This fast paced, highly tactical ruleset set in the 17th Century Caribbean during the age of piracy, can be played on your average kitchen table in about 2 hours and is sure to appeal to both casual and competitive players. This book includes all the rules necessary to play out battles on land, sea or both simultaneously. It includes various factions of the Spanish, English and French nationalities as well as ships and boats such as Light Frigates, Brigantines, Sloops, and Longboats.

Unity Field Agent is a space opera war-game for 10-12 figures on each side.
Simple unit profiles. Each unit is defined by 5 numerical ratings (Yes, a Nordic Weasel Title with stats!)
Dice rolls use minimal modifiers. You can look at your troop roster and see exactly what you need to roll in almost all cases.
A card driven system that makes the turn sequence unpredictable without taking control completely away from the player.
This combines with the Action system to create a dynamic flow of the battle.
*A leader runs forward before dropping to his knee to take an aimed shot.
*The sniper calmly sights her rifle, prepared for the enemy to break cover.
*A wounded trooper crawls to safety while their comrades lay down suppressing fire.
All possible without complicated mechanics to remember.
In addition to the core game rules, easily summarized on a single reference sheet, you also receive a card-driven random event system (for players that like some chaos in their battle) and a complete set-up sequence that lets you build a custom battle field and scenario, simply by drawing a few playing cards from a deck.

Tactical AI for skirmish miniature wargames.
Hostile Tactical AI is an Artificial Intelligence system to order enemy units around in skirmish miniature wargames, so you may play solo or co-op against the enemy.
The rules work through a deck of 72 cards that tell enemy units, where to go and what to do. There are two sets of instructions on every card. One set gives orders to patrolling units unaware of the player. The other set of orders is for aware units attacking the player's units.
Patrol instructions include: Sweeping the area for the player, Patrolling objectives, Checking suspicious behavior, etc...
Attack instructions include: Rushing the player, Defensive posturing, Flanking, etc...
Each card includes: Compass directions, Dice rolls, Player to attack, and Reactions. There are also playing card symbols on each card to be used for variable activations or objective orders in the case of multiple objectives.
Included with the deck and rulebook are sixteen shards matching the playing card symbols. These can be used for random setup of enemy units.
The rules were specifically designed for miniature games with ranged weapons.
For each enemy activation, the player draws a card for that enemy unit. The card gives the enemy order or orders. Sometimes requiring multiple cards to be drawn to show what direction and how far the enemy moves, and also which player to attack.
Hostile Tactical AI is quick to learn and gives you a good fight. The enemy might just surprise you!

Captains and Kings from Rebel Minis
A Kingdom is yours for the taking! But first…
Your charge has halted and your men are close to panic! Your front rank has taken casualties, and refuses to move forward. Crossbow bolts fly past you, only to strike down a soldier behind you. Your men remain in place, but for how long? Mere yards away, you see the enemy Captain shouting; gathering the courage to counter-attack. Victory is at hand but all men fear their own death. You throw off your helmet and raising your sword you shout – “For King and Country!” You charge forward and your men follow…this time.
It isn’t easy for a Captain that would be King.
Captains and Kings is Warband combat in the High Medieval Ages. You start in command of one unit but if you succeed in battle, raise your Social Standing and gather more men, you can rise from Captain to King. Inside you’ll find:
Rules for fighting small Raids between Warbands, to large Stand Up Fights between Armies.
Fourteen different armies covering the 9th to 13th Centuries, from Viking Raiders to Crusading Knights.
Rules for three complete Campaigns to tie your battles together.
Complete Siege rules.
Ten different scenarios.
Captains and Kings can be payed solo, same side with everyone against the game, or head to head against your friends. Play with any figures you already have in any scale, metal, plastic or paper. Play it as a Campaign where all the battles are linked together or as a one-off game. Bottom line; just play it…you’ll be glad you did!
